I have more to add to this, but its so funny because Cheryl called me tonight because she was majorly stressing about something and needed my advice--by the time we got off the phone it was a couple hours later, and her voice didn't sound stressed anymore:)
OTHER things that my best friend knows about me (or I know about her, or we both know about each other):
*our mom's maiden names
*what mood we are in by the sound of our voice on the telephone
*how we will react to what each other might say (way beyond finishing each other's sentences)
*members of each other's extended family
*where each other's grandparents are buried (mostly in the same cemetary oddly enough)
*what our family's schedules our like, and how we get along with different members of our family
*Cheryl's neighbors know me by name and ask me about school
*we've been to each other's happy events--the birthdays and graduation parties, but we've also been to the sad stuff too--wakes and funerals--and lots of family events in general
*I can honestly say that I have either gotten for her and been with her when she bought half (or over) of the stuff in her room...including her underwear drawer
*speaking of underwear, Cheryl nows buys it for me keeping in mind Martin's preferences--because she knows that too
*we never have short telephone conversations--and when we start to say goodbye, it usually takes ATLEAST half an hour more before we finally hang up
*we don't just have memories, we have "memory genres" like--"movies we've seen together," "fun excursions we've been on," "parties and sleepovers," and my personal favorite, "things we have done where Cheryl has done something clutzy in the middle of it"
*saying "I love you" has a very special meaning all its own
*you know all the regular stuff too--like favorite foods, past crushes, favorite color--etc.
*buying each other gifts is like the easiest shopping ever
*yeah, you've done some of the really cliched girly "best friends" stuff too
*you have secret code words and phrases
*you can talk about the gross embarassing stuff and not even care or think twice any more
*having something important in your life is not worth having until we've shared it with each other
I'm sure there is more, but I have to go to bed--internship tomorrow--first time I will be going in not just for training but as an editorial assistant! yahoo!
